    1. Auto Glass Technician

Position Description: The Auto Glass Technician is responsible to repair small chips, or remove/replace damaged windshields and other auto glass. The ideal candidate for this position will have a high school diploma, glass or related automotive experience, a valid and unrestricted driver's license, and the physical capabilities to perform all of the duties required of this position.

The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:    

  • Remove and replace auto glass applications, windshields, door glass, mirrors, etc.    
  • Handle glass products in an expert and safe manner    
  • Drive specially-stocked, specially-designed service vehicle(s) in order to deliver customer services    
  • Expertly use tools of the trade to perform all aspects of preparation, installation, and quality control of all Glass Doctor products    
  • Effectively communicate with the customer to set and manage expectations    
  • Clean work area upon completion of the project    
  • Seek and maintain leading-edge technical knowledge of the glass industry in order to offer viable solutions to customer problems  

Important Qualities:

  • Balance: Ability to balance heavy windshields over expensive automobiles. 
  • Hand-eye coordination: Glass must be precisely set. As a result, a steady hand is needed.   
  • Physical strength: Glass techs must often lift heavy pieces of glass for hanging. Physical strength, therefore, is important in their work.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current and unrestricted driver's license
  • Desirable qualifications: friendly, positive attitude, calm, quality conscious, customer focused and organized.
  • Physical stamina, hand-eye, and balance required to perform all requirements of this position
  • Experience with auto glass is ideal
  • ASE, i-Car, and/or AGRSS Certification is highly desired

    2. Flat Glass Glazier Technician

Position Description: The Flat Glass Technician is responsible to remove and install glass products in residential and commercial applications.  In residential homes, glaziers install/replace windows, mirrors, shower doors, bathtub enclosures, and specialty glass applications such as tabletops and display cases.  In commercial projects, glaziers install items such as heavy, often etched, decorative room dividers or security windows and other glass and mirror applications. The Flat Tech may also replace storefront windows for supermarkets, auto dealerships, banks, and similar businesses. The ideal candidate for this position will have a high school diploma, prior glass experience, a valid and unrestricted driver's license, and the physical stamina to perform all of the duties required of this position.

  • Cut glass in a precise fashion and handle product in an expert and safe manner    
  • Drive specially-stocked, specially-designed service vehicle(s) in order to deliver customer services    
  • Expertly use tools of the trade to perform all aspects of preparation, installation, and quality control of all Glass Doctor products    
  • Effectively communicate with the customer to set and manage expectations    
  • Clean work area upon completion of the project    
  • Maintain leading-edge technical knowledge of the glass industry in order to offer viable solutions to customer problems

  • Hand-eye coordination:  Glass must be precisely cut. As a result, a steady hand is needed to achieve a cut of the correct size and shape.   
  • Physical strength:  Glaziers must often lift heavy pieces of glass for hanging. Physical strength, therefore, is important in their work.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current and unrestricted driver's license
  • Desirable qualifications: friendly, positive attitude, calm, quality conscious, customer focused and organized.
  • Physical stamina, hand-eye, and balance required to perform all requirements of this position
  • Experience working with flat glass is ideal

    3. Dispatch

Position Description: The Dispatcher directs field service. He/she places jobs on technician schedules, optimizes technician productivity, verifies detail on incoming customer orders, and orders parts for upcoming jobs. He / She is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction while ensuring that products and services are delivered in an efficient manner. The ideal candidate is a high school graduate (GED) with relevant Dispatcher / scheduling experience, solid math skills, strong communication skills, confident phone and computer skills, and with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities: 

  • Set and maintain technician schedules and routes 
  • Schedule daily and future work 
  • Monitor parts orders to best utilize existing inventory/purchase at lowest price
  • Verify detail on incoming work orders 
  • Clearly communicate customer and technician needs
  • Stay in-front of the schedule to ensure the company's team & resources are being maximized and used efficiently 
  • Establish an attitude of encouragement and support for technician team and remain positive at all times 
  • Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment
  • Treat customers with care and respect
